How to change the alignment of your text in CanvasWorkspace?
Start by drawing a circle on your canvas. You can do this by selecting the circle shape in the Shapes panel.
You will find the Shapes Panel on the left side of your screen. To display the shapes panel, press the second icon in the Object Mode bar on the left.
Please choose your favorite circle and place it on your canvas.
Once your circle is ready, select the text tool. It’s the third icon in the object mode bar on the left.
Write some text on your canvas. You can change the default aspect of your text in the properties panel.
To fit the text to the path of your circle, select both the circle and the text.
Open the edit panel. It’s the second icon on the right menu.
At the end of the Edit panel, you’ll find a section called Text. The only button in this section represents the “Fit to path” tool.
Hit the button to fit your text to the path of the circle.
As you can see in the image above, the circle’s shape has changed from black to blue. This change reminds us that our text is in a temporary path. To make it permanent, select the figure and right-click with your mouse. On the new menu, hit “Convert to shapes.”
Now, your curved text is an independent shape.
You can move this shape and adjust its size and position the way you want.
If you don’t like how your text looks on this path, you can hit CTRL + Z and undo the shape you’ve created. On your screen, you will see your text over the circle you’ve previously created.
Right-click the figures and select “Release text from the path” in the options menu.
Once you’ve fit your text to a path, you can align it to it in different ways.
To modify the alignment, you’ll have to go back to the properties panel. You will see three sections at the bottom of the Properties Panel: Horizontal Alignment, Vertical Alignment, and Path Direction.
Every button in this section allows you to create a different alignment setup. By default, the text is aligned with the left and the bottom, as shown in the image above. Let’s look at all the possibilities.
Align with the center.
Align with the right.
Distribute.
Align to the middle.
Align with the top.
Change the path direction.
And that’s it! We hope you’ve found this guide insightful. Have fun creating curve text with Brother CanvasWorkspace!
