Advanced Needle Lace Techniques

What you'll learn

Join embroidery artist Charlie as she takes you to new heights in the world of contemporary needle lace designs with an adorable hot air balloon! Start by creating a complex cordonnet on a sandwich, or backing of stacked paper, then add several different needle lace styles to fill in the basket and balloon with bright colors and fun textures. Complete the design by top-stitching around the entire piece, then separate it from the sandwich by clipping the tacking stitches. Clean up the back, and you have a beautiful, free-hanging piece of lace, made completely by hand! Check out the free balloon pattern that can be found under the Supplies section.
