Bean Stitch Mug Cozy

The bean stitch creates a lovely thick texture that works splendidly to keep your coffee warm. It works up really fast, so this is an excellent last-minute gift to make!

If you’ve never made the bean stitch, don’t despair! Lots of step-by-step photo’s are included to teach you how to make the stitch. The last page of the pattern is a printer-friendly version without the photo’s.

You will only need about 25g of yarn (less than an ounce), so this is an excellent way to use up old yarn (DK or Double Knit yarn is the thickness of light worsted yarn, a 3 on the standard yarn weight system).

This mug cosy will fit around a mug with a 25 cm (9-10 inches) circumference and the mug should be at least be 9 cm (3.5 inches) in height. This is the smallest mug recommended. It will easily fit around bigger mugs, simply adjust the placement of your button.
