Leather Carving for Beginners: Making a Leather Keychain
What you'll learn
Leather is a dynamic and mouldable material that can be carved and stamped. Learn how to use basic leather carving and stamping tools to create a jasmine flower design in veg-tanned leather. We will cover how to carve into leather and then how to create textures and dimensions in the leather using stamping tools. Finish with leather antique gel and acrylic finish resulting in a handcrafted keychain. Note: you can find the design used in this class attached on the right-hand side under the session titled "Materials and Tools".

After the keychain is carved and stamped, cut it out of the surrounding material.
Add a leather antique as a patina to make the floral design pop.
Finish off the keychain with a matte finish as a sealer.
