I would like to mention the following two hints that might be helpful. One, when you are deciding the size of the stencil, I don’t believe you mentioned comparing it to the wood size so that it was a correct size. Two, I suggest that when you are putting your stencil in the Cricut machine, cut the stencil first to the size you need for the stencil rather than wasting the whole sheet. Plus it will make it easier for removal from the mat. You are a very good speaker and I enjoyed your class!

Hi Rebecca! Thanks for your comments. I did mention your point about not sizing the stencil larger than the piece of wood at minute 6:12 in the wood sign segment. Thanks for reiterating that tip, though! On your second point, I actually don't recommend cutting the stencil film beforehand. We draw a shape around the stencil (the rectangle) to make it easy to remove. If you try to cut the stencil film before putting it into the machine, you run the risk of 1) misjudging the cutting area or 2) wasting pieces of the stencil. You can always reuse the uncut portions of the stencil film after this project. I do the same technique when cutting vinyl and have lots of good scraps left over for other projects. Of course, each person may have a different preference. I hope this helps! Thanks for your kind words about the class!
