Bullet Journal inspiration: April 2020

A bullet journal is a great resource to keep your routine during the quarantine. This type of personal schedule allows you to distribute your tasks and track essential things, like your habits or your mood. In today’s post, we are going to explain to you how to design a monthly layout. It’s fun, creative, and useful!

We have teamed up with the fabulous Nala Mid. Nala is a Mexican creator that loves to create beautiful logs for her bullet journal. She is the author of all the artwork and the images in this article. If you’d like to discover her artwork, you can follow her on Instagram and YouTube.

Nala wanted to dedicate her monthly cover to the concept of “home.” We have been hearing that word a lot during the last weeks, and it is the place where we find shelter. Staying at home should not make us bored or overwhelmed: our house should become a creative, inspiring space. That is the philosophy behind Nala’s monthly planning.

Daily schedule

Nala says that having too much free time was stressing her out. That is why she designed this interactive log that allows her to plan her weekly schedule. The mechanism is straightforward. She starts by blocking her working hours and the time she has to invest in home chores. Then, she plans fun activities in her free time. Her tip is to write the plans down in post-it notes. That way, she can place them the way she wants during the week.

Monthly log and habit tracker

Next to her monthly log, Nala has placed a list of people she’d like to call during these days. In her opinion, speaking with other people and cheering them up is an essential part of the day.
On the right page, you can see Nala’s habit tracker setup. For her, keeping her sleeping routine has been essential. On this tracker, she highlighted eight habits that she considers crucial, but you can highlight yours. Sticking to these habits will help you take care of your physical and mental health.

Gratitude log and mental inventory

On the left page, Nala has placed a gratitude log. This sheet is the place to jot down a thankful thought every day. It’s a great resource to keep a positive mood.
On the right page, you can see her mental inventory. This page is the place to write random thoughts that cross her mind so that she won’t forget them.

Mood tracker and weekly setup

The last log that Nala has created in her journal is a mood tracker. She intended to create a fun, dynamic design. She will connect the dots using colors that will represent her mood. In the right place, you can see the first place of her weekly set up. Nala has decided to fit four days on a page, but you can adjust this depending on the volume of tasks you have to accomplish.
We hope you find Nala’s work inspiring and useful. Good luck with creating your pages and logs!
