Making it

Hosts: Amy Poehler & Nick Offerman

Network: NBC

This six-episode competition is co-produced and co-presented by Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman. The contest reunites eight of the most talented makers in the United States. In every episode, the contestants have to complete two handmade projects where they show their versatility and talent for crafting.

The first round of the chapters is called “Faster craft.” For this challenge, contestants will have to finish a craft in a fixed amount of time successfully. The idea behind this activity is to prove that they can work in a fast and creative way, managing pressure and delivering quality results.

The second round is called “The master craft collection.” For this part of the episode, contestants will have to complete a themed task. To succeed, they must find a balance between expertise and creativity. In the end, a tribunal with expert judges will decide which one is the winning craft of the week.

Craft Wars

Host: Tori Spelling

Network: TLC

Every chapter of this show features three talented crafters that compete against one another during two rounds. The challenges that they have to face vary depending on the episode. This way, the contestants can show how imaginative and resourceful they are by embracing different and unexpected crafting experiences. The host, Tori Spelling, and a panel of judges will decide in the end who is the winner of the episode. The goal of the contestants is to earn the final $10.000 price.

The first part of the show is called the “Pop craft challenge.” For this round, the participants have to recreate a popular craft by using a big collection of supplies. The supplies are displayed in the “Michaels craft closet,” donated by Michaels, a well-known crafting materials store.

After the first round, the jury will eliminate one contestant. The final two will compete for the victory in the second round, the Master Craft Challenge. The one who gets to amaze the judges with their last craft will be the winner of the War (and the price!).

Kirstie’s Celebrity Craft Masters

Host: Kirstie Allsopp

Network: Channel 4

Veteran TV host Kirstie Allsopp launched this popular TV show in 2019. In every chapter, Britain’s queen of crafting tests some celebrities’ability to create unique artwork.

Kirstie’s career is full of entertaining and inspiring TV shows. She is also the host for other crafting programs, such as “Kirstie: keep crafting and carry on,” or “Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas.” On “Kirstie’s Celebrity Craft Masters,” she will discover the crafting skills of some couples of famous British celebrities.

The chapters of the show last around 45 minutes. The crafts that the participants have to complete are more intuitive and beginner-friendly than the ones that you’ll see on shows that feature actual crafting experts. This fact makes the show perfect for those who enjoy imitating at home the projects they see on TV.

Craftopia

Host: Lauren Riihimaki

Network: HBO

Craftopia is one of the most promising shows that will be released in the current season. Hosted by the Canadian influencer Lauren Riihimaki, also known as LaurDIY, this show is a crafting competition for children.

Craftopia is meant to be an epic crafting competition. The contestants will be kids who have shown proficient, creative skills. For the challenges, they will have access to a complete set of premium crafting supplies and resources.

In every episode of Craftopia, the contestants will try to impress the judges by facing a different challenge. Even though they’ll have a lot of facilities, their imagination, decision making, and time management skills will be the key to success. This streaming series will be released on HBO on the 27th of May.
