In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a personalized 3D initial frame. This is a perfect DIY project for your home décor and makes for a lovely unique gift!
Create This Project With Designs From Creative Fabrica
- Crafting Month Free Bundle: Cute Paper Craft SVG Mega Bundle
For this project, you can use any SVG file in this free bundle – to re-create the projects in this tutorial you can use the Laser/paper Cut Layer Flower SVG Bundle included in the free bundle.
Other Supplies
- Die-cutting machine (For this project a Cricut Joy was used)
- White pallet board
- Letter ‘N’ (or any other letter)
- Cardstock in various colors
- Scissors
- Glue gun
- Pencil or chalk
- Tape measure
How to Create This Project
- Prepare and measure the pallet board and decide where you’ll be putting everything.
- Download the free Cute Paper Craft SVG Mega Bundle from Creative Fabrica
- Select the Laser/paper Cut Layer Flower SVG Bundle, upload the designs to Cricut Design Space, or the die-cutting machine software of your choice, and size the flowers accordingly with your placement. It’s better if the flowers are smaller, as you move to the center of the flowers.
- Cut each flower separately, unless you have a more advanced Cricut machine.
- Once uploaded, select the image, paper, and cut selection on your screen.
- You’ll also be able to adjust your size here before cutting. This is what you pre-measured in step one.
- Cut the designs on your cutting machine. If you are using a Cricut Joy should automatically connect via Bluetooth, and then select your material, and click GO once you’ve loaded your vinyl into the Cricut Joy.
- After each template is cut, start layering your board and use the glue gun to put everything together. Your project is now complete!
Tips To Make This Project Successful:
- Pre-measure every design before cutting.
- Pre-layer the colors of each cardstock, this way you’ll know how it looks before cutting.
- When cutting textured cardstock, it’s easier to cut the textured side up. The same applies when inserting the cardstock into the cutting machine.
- Design Space is available on every device; however, using a computer or iPad for this project is easiest for being able to size all your designs on a bigger screen.
- In Design Space, you can assign a matching color of the Cardstock to the file you are layering so to avoid any confusion.
- Pre-measure and cut you cardstock because if your Cricut Joy has a minimum sizing.
