Get inspired, but do not copy
Nowadays, inspiration is all around. It is great to check Pinterest and Instagram to get good ideas. But it is also essential to respect other couples by creating your tables without copying. Some decorations have a very personal meaning. On a day full of emotions, every venue should look unique and original.
Adapt to your circumstances
Anaís says that designing the tables for every wedding is a beautiful part of her work, but it is also one of the most complex tasks. Her advice is to find a balance between many factors. Take into account your budget, your style preferences, the setting, the flowers, and the protocol.
Stick to the style of your wedding
Take into account the characteristics of the ceremony and the moment of the year. There are a lot of cool things you can do. Pick those that align with the moment. Let’s see this with some examples. For a summer night wedding in a garden, Anaís recommends wooden tables. You can decorate those wooden boards with plants, candles, and a green color palette. If you celebrate an urban wedding, the combination should change. In that case, you can make eclectic compositions with industrial materials like iron or glass. The wooden table looks fantastic in the first scenario, but it would not make sense on the second one.
Leave a sign with every guest’s name on their place
We think this is a beautiful detail. Your guests will love to keep that souvenir afterward. Have you seen the cardboard pieces Anaís added in some pictures of this post? They are ideal! You can also create little cards with a handwritten lettering or with a script font. These small signs will make your loved ones feel special.
Don’t be afraid of combining different elements
Combining different vintage plates can give your table a retro and whimsical aspect. The same goes for the chairs, the cloth napkins, and the flowers. It is nice when these elements are all equal, but that will raise the costs. A mix and match is a beautiful alternative for a DIY wedding.
