How to uninstall and remove fonts in Windows
This page is part of The Ultimate Font Guide, an introductory font manual that explains the basics of fonts and how to install fonts, use them in different applications and more.
If you’ve installed a font that you no longer wish to keep or if you by mistake installed the wrong font on your computer, you can easily uninstall and remove the font in Microsoft Windows. Just follow the easy steps below!
Uninstall and removing the font
Open Windows Settings – you can find it by searching for Settings.
Click Personalisation > Fonts
Search for the font you want to remove and select it. You can locate the font by scrolling in the list or searching for the font.
Under Metadata click the Uninstall button.
A pop-up window will appear on your screen, asking you to again confirm that the font will be permanently removed.
The font is now removed from your computer.
It is good to note that you won’t be able to remove system-protected fonts from Windows.
