Create embroidery letterings with the embroidery i2 Plugin for Adobe Illustrator
Nowadays, most embroidery machines include built-in alphabets that you can use to create beautiful letterings. This method is straightforward: you just need to choose your favorite style and create your design on the machine’s screen. Here you have a list of devices with a font catalog.
Singer Quantum XL 6000. You can find five integrated font styles.
Singer Quantum XL 1000. Incorporates text editing features that you can use on its LCD screen.
Bernina Artista 730 E. This machine includes a catalog of built-in embroidery alphabets, and it allows you to create and edit word art with a specific tool.
Husqvarna Viking Designer SE. This model includes a catalog with block line, brush line, and script alphabets.
Bernina 880 Plus. Here you can find nine newly digitized embroidery alphabets.
These alphabets have been digitized for your machine. All the embroidery parameters are correctly set up to give you the best result.
You can create your designs on your machine’s screen. The procedure is intuitive, and you don’t need to use any other device.
You can only use a limited amount of fonts. This limits your creative opportunities.
In case there is any problem, you depend on the manufacturer’s customer service. People that work in this type of role have a technical background: they can help you with mechanical issues, but you can’t be sure they will help you with design problems.
Some embroidery editors include lettering features. This way, you can generate designs with words and send them to your embroidery machine. The process requires two devices, but it’s still intuitive and beginner-friendly.
An excellent example of this case is Embrilliance Essentials Embroidery Machine Software. This advanced tool allows you to add embroidered lettering in multi-line, monogram, and circle modes. It’s also possible to create spirals and large word art compositions.
The lettering tools are part of the design interface. This simplifies the process.
You can easily visualize your designs on your computer. The screen is bigger than the one in the embroidery machine.
Once again, you are still limited by the catalog.
You need an external device to create your designs. If your machine does not read USB sticks, you won’t be able to send the designs.
